Rules 1.EQUIPMENT- The official wiffleball is used. Bats manufactured by wiffleball, wifflepro, and JTL bat company are the only legal bats. Weighted warm up bats are legal. The only player that can wear a glove is the pitcher, to hide his grip on the ball. Only non-metalic tape can be used on the bat handles. 2. FIELD- The left and right field walls must be at least 65 feet from home and no more than 90 feet from home. The center field fence must be over 85 feet from home and less than 110 feet from home. Bases are 42 feet apart and the pitchers mound is 40 feet from home plate. Fences may be any hight. 3. BATING- The count consists of 8 balls and 3 strikes, if you do get 8 balls you can either take your base or restart the count. A swing and miss is a strike and any ball that is not swung at and lands in the strike zone is a strike. The strike zone is 30" by 22" and sits 12" off the ground. 4. BASE RUNNING- Our version of wiffleball does include base running wich makes it different from most other people's way of playing the game. There is no stealing or leading off. You can not leave the base until the batter makes contact. 5. OUTS- There are 5 ways to get an out, 1.strike out the batter, 2.catch a fly ball, 3.field a ground ball and either hit the target at first or get the ball to the pitcher in the designated circle before the runner gets to first, 4.if there are runners on base and you field a grounder hit the target at the appropriate base or touch the base to get the force out, 5.tag the runner. 6. GAME- The game consists of 6 innings. 4 innings is a complete game. If game is tyed after 6 innings the teams will play extra innings until a winner is decided. Either players on the bench or a person who is not participating in the game must take book. Team jerseys are not required but are legal. Wristbands, headbands or any thing of that nature are legal. 3 outs per inning. Teams are allowed warm-up time to take BP or practice pitching in the bull-pen before every game. 7. TRADES- Teams may trade or recruit any player up until the half way point of the season. Team rosters may include no more than six people. I Joe Herron the commisioner of the BANWL have the right to eliminate or change any rule. Calls will be made by the fielders who are not directly involved in the play and will not be argued with. If any player argues a call or destroys any equipment the commisioner Joe Herron and assistant Commisioner Nick Bjugan have the right to suspend or ban anyone. |
